WHAT IS ORGANIC RAPESEED?
It is widely cultivated in Europe and Canada (where it is called Canola). Its development and growth occurs in three stages: rosette, bolting, flowering. The yellow rapeseed flowers are arranged in clusters. The fruits, or siliques (typical cruciferous fruits) are formed after the plant self-fertilizes. They contain small dark-colored seeds (brown or black), the number of which varies between 10 and 30. The latter are particularly rich in oil (45%), which encourages the cultivation of rapeseed. After pressing, we obtain a superb amber-colored organic rapeseed oil.
